ABOUT ME
ABOUT ME
Thoughtful editing for thoughtful nonfiction.
I’m Maria Giovanna Brauzzi: editor, translator, and the person you call when your writing feels too dense, too messy, or just not quite ready.
For a decade, I worked at Bloomsbury Publishing as a commissioning editor, supporting academics and authors in turning research into readable, purposeful books. Now, through Bold & Italic Editing, I work directly with authors, researchers, and content teams who want clarity and polish, without losing their voice.
But I guess what you really want to know is:
Why should we would together?
Because I understand both sides: the writer’s uncertainty and the publisher’s standards.
I know what it’s like to wrestle with a manuscript that just won’t sit right – and I know how to fix it.
I edit with care, precision, and respect. You’ll get honest, constructive feedback that helps you feel more confident in your work – not more overwhelmed.
Whether you’re refining an essay collection, restructuring a monograph, or preparing a founder’s guide, I bring a calm, collaborative approach to the editing process – and I make sure you always have the final say.
