Book Formatting for Print and eBook

Turn your manuscript into a clean, professional book file.
Book formatting is about creating a clean, consistent, and professional layout for your manuscript, one that meets publishing standards and supports a smooth reading experience. Whether you're self-publishing digitally, preparing a print edition, or submitting to a press, properly formatted interior files help ensure your book reads smoothly.
Tools I work with:
Vellum – great for print and eBook formatting
Word or Google Docs – if your publisher requires editable files
Canva Pro – for simple handbooks, workbooks, or report-style layouts
What’s included:
Interior layout for eBook and print (via Vellum, Canva Pro or Word)
Clean chapter structure, heading hierarchy, and page breaks
Consistent styles for paragraphs, quotes, lists, and headings
Optional front and back matter (TOC, copyright, bio, etc.)
Minor cleanup of typographic issues (spacing, punctuation, etc.)
Rates and turnaround
Starting price: £200+, depending on file type, length, and complexity.
My rates are guided by professional benchmarks set by the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA) and the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP), with a modest markup to ensure sustainable pricing.
Turnaround: 1–6 weeks, depending on length and file needs
