The Project:
A long-time educator and facilitator approached me with a completed manuscript: a practical nonfiction book designed to share their educational methodology with a wider audience. Their goal was to self-publish a professional, accessible book that could be used in training settings, workshops, and classrooms.What I Did:
After completing a round of developmental editing and copyediting, I helped format the book for both digital and print publication. My support included:Designing a clean, structured layout using Vellum for ePub and print editions (PB and HB)
Standardizing chapter openings, headings, and instructional features (like exercises and key terms)
Formatting footnotes, pull quotes, and references for clarity and consistency
Incorporating pedagogical elements such as diagrams and figures
Aligning the manuscript with the chosen trim size and coordinating final files with a cover designer
Delivering fully export-ready files for IngramSpark (PDF) and KDP/Draft2Digital (EPUB)
The Outcome:
The author was able to independently publish a professional-quality book under their own imprint. The result is a polished, well-structured resource that’s already being used in the field to support educators and facilitators.
